Wolstenholme
International provides a range of metallic waterbased
printing products available for a diverse range of print
applications. The products have been designed to create
excellent results on modern flexographic and gravure
printing presses, also providing a series of inks for
Tower Coater units. Our inks offer ease of use,
consistency and repeatability of performance. Unipak®
waterbased metallic inks utilize the latest developments
in bronze and aluminium pigment technology in order to
achieve outstanding printed metallic appearance.
Brilliance levels are comparable with solvent based
gravure metallic inks.
The inks offer excellent printability,
minimizing the need to stop and clean the
press. This can reduce printer down time,
and contribute to cost savings. Unipak®
waterbased metallic inks also have
excellent clean-up characteristics
reducing the washing up time of a printing
press.
Other
performance benefits of Unipak® waterbased inks include
excellent transfer properties on a wide range of coated
and uncoated paper substrates, low levels (less than 1%)
of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) and successful
trapping over other colours under a variety of machine
conditions and applications.
Unipak® MultiStrength
is a recent addition to the Wolstenholme
International Unipak® waterbased range. Unipak®
MultiStrength is a competitive ink range offering
quality and flexibility to the ink maker. The Unipak®
MultiStrength strategy offers a range of ink strengths
at prices close to the ink maker's own manufacturing
costs, whilst maintaining the excellent performance
characteristics of the standard Unipak® waterbased inks.
Wolstenholme
International introduces a new range of products to our
waterbased metallic range. RPC (resinated pigment
concentrate) products combine formulation
flexibility with state of the art metallic ink
technology. This allows printing ink formulators to
develop waterbased metallic inks for specific
applications with built-in stability and performance
provided trough the waterbased RPC base. Inks formulated
with RPC can be used for flexographic and gravure
printing on both coated and uncoated paper and board
along with other absorbent substrates. Typical areas of
application include pre and post print corrugated,
gift-wrap, napkin printing and paper sacks.
With the
introduction of Mirasheen™ waterbased,
Wolstenholme International can now offer Mirasheen™
technology in all of the main printing ink chemistries.
All Mirasheen™ inks provide a 'mirror-like' brilliant
finish and are based on Wolstenholme's vacuum metallised
pigment technology. Mirasheen™ inks are a cost-effective
means of achieving foil-like metallic effects. They are
designed for use on adapted tower coater units and for
flexographic printing on coated paper and board. With
modification Mirasheen™ waterbased can be used on
filmic substrates and also be printed gravure.
To satisfy the increasing
demand for more environmentally-friendly formulation
chemistries, Wolstenholme International has launched
Superoto® H2O, a range of bronze pellets designed
for use in waterbased flexographic and gravure inks.
Superoto® H2O products are supplied as pellets which
incorporate stabilization additive technology that
provides ease of dispersion and stability of finished
ink systems. With very high metal content, formulators
have maximum flexibility over final ink formulations.
Superoto® H2O pellets are available in various particle
size grades to suit the majority of applications where a
bronze pigment is needed for use in a waterbased system.
Suitable
applications include all printing applications where a
waterbased gold ink is required including gift-wrap,
labels, cartons and napkins.
